When you start off reading 'From A Season Of Sleep' it takes you from seemingly separate observations on life, love and passion. Well before the end of this collected work of poems, you will realize that all the little pieces work together to make a contiguous story, and a noteworthy one at that. More than a few times did I find the author's artful words echoing events that took place in my own life. Giving voice to those universal experiences we seldom speak of is what makes this a pleasure to read.
Sreya Bremtin's first collection is exceptional and moving, and different than other poetic works on the market. Rather than stick to the stereotypical, Bremtin focuses on real, heartfelt, soulful and passionate prose. A must read for any poetry lover.
Sreya Bremtin writes with a passionate pen. Her poetry is not the usual poems of love. She walks through emotion at times with a feeling of innocence and at others it is the full blown heat of womanhood. I read it through from first poem to last at the first reading, but went back to reread and spend time among her words. It is a beautiful collection that would enhance anyone's library.
The two words that come to mind as I read this collection of poetry were "artistic" and "romantic." Sreya Bremtin is a romantic and passionate poet with a flare for description. She uses words and imagery to create scenes of love, lust, and longing in the appropriately named From a Season of Sleep. She writes from the perspective of one who has been awaked by passion, and it leaves readers yearning for more.
I'm so glad that I purchased this book. I can't wait to read more from this author. Please keep them coming.
